Be Like Ah-Toh: Discover Why the SPR BFITS Program Feels Like Home

Be Like Ah-Toh_Discover the SPR BFITS Program

From the very beginning of my journey in Mathayom 1 (Grade 7), I never expected that the SPR BFITS Program would become a place that feels like home. But with every class, every teacher, and every moment of learning, I found myself growing in ways I never imagined. The more I listened, practiced, and tried my best, the more comfortable I became with English — and with myself.

By the time I reached Mathayom 6 (Grade 12), these teachers had already shaped my confidence, my communication skills, and the way I see the world. Their patience and kindness made me believe that I could do more, speak more, and be more. Looking back, every conversation and lesson helped me become who I am today, and that’s why the BFITS Program in Saipanyarangsit School will always feel like home.

Accepting My Certificate & Overcoming My First English Fears

This was my first experience in an English program, so receiving my certificate was a big moment for me. At first, I wasn’t sure I could use English confidently, especially with someone I wasn’t close to. But with the support of teachers, I learned to be brave enough to try.

T. Neil was the first teacher I ever spoke to in English. He was kind, patient, and always encouraged me to speak. Because of him, I began communicating more with every teacher and slowly built my confidence.

Becoming “The Translator” in M3 and Finding Confidence

When I was in Mathayom 3 (Grade 9), my friends called me “The Translator” because I could communicate with teachers. By that time, I had grown brave enough to try my best, speak English, and talk with everyone in BFITS.

Teacher Afton Murillo, my Math teacher, felt like a father to me. He always gave me advice about speaking English and about real life. Every conversation with him was meaningful.

Then there was Teacher Joshua Johnson — very kind and very patient. He taught us English, and his Thai handwriting was surprisingly good. He even wrote us a poem when we completed M.3.

Lastly, Teacher Anthony Ferrer — kind, supportive, and someone who could switch between being serious like a leader and friendly like a brother. All of them were truly great teachers to me.

Learning With BFITS Teachers Who Made a Real Impact

With Teacher Afton and Teacher Joshua as my foundation, I continued growing. When I was in Mathayom 4 (Grade 10) and Mathayom 5 (Grade 11), I felt proud of myself because I had learned with many great teachers.

I found Teacher Charles Williams, who became my best English teacher. His teaching style helped me improve my communication skills more than I ever expected. I really respect him.

Next is Teacher Ada Mangaoang, my Chemistry teacher. She had a unique teaching style, grounded in her “everyday look” concept. Then there’s Teacher Jehnille Malabanan, my Math teacher, whose explanations were straightforward for me to understand.

Then there’s Teacher Aldwin Malabanan, the “father” of the SPR BFITS Program (MEP), our Headteacher and ICT teacher (not related to Teacher Jehnille). At first, he seemed strict, but once we got to know him, he turned out to be very kind and even joined in our jokes whenever I played around with him.

My Unforgettable Experience at the MEP Camp

During MEP Camp, I met even more teachers who made a strong impact on me. One of them is Teacher Roderick Wright, Jr. He is very good at writing essays and pictorial writing, and he seems to know everything in the world. He often made quiz games for us when the lesson ended, which made learning more fun.

I met Teacher Anthony again this year, and because my English had improved, we talked even more — about school, about life, and about everything in between. His teaching style, both in lab activities and theory lessons, brought out the best in our class. And when we finished a project or semester, he always bought us Krispy Kreme. Small moments like these made all the tiredness worth it.

A Selfie That Captures Years of Growth

Taking a selfie with Teacher Anthony reminded me of how far I’ve come. From being nervous to speak English in M1, to becoming a confident communicator in M6 — this journey means so much to me.

Every lesson, every project, and every teacher helped me grow not just academically, but as a person. I learned to speak bravely, think more openly, and become proud of myself.

A Grateful Farewell to the Teachers Who Became My Second Family

I am almost at the end of my journey at Saipanyarangsit School, and everything I have experienced here has been truly beneficial to me. I want to thank everyone I met, even those whose names I didn’t learn or didn’t get to mention. I appreciate every single person who became part of my life. You all helped me become a better person, and I will always remember you.

Lastly, thank you for helping me with everything. I really love you all. I received so many lessons, so many memories, and so much support from my teachers. I wish everyone good days ahead, and I promise I will come back to visit.

Thank you for reading my story — a small part of my high school life, and just the beginning of everything ahead.
