Discovering the Hidden Fun in Science<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n\u201cIf we knew what we were doing, it wouldn\u2019t be called research.\u201d – Albert Einstein.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nSometimes, when it comes to doing laboratory experiments, projects, or participating in science exhibitions, it\u2019s normal to feel nervous, scared, or even a little stressed. But it doesn\u2019t have to be that way! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Science is full of surprises, and if you look on the bright side, it\u2019s an amazing chance to try new things, explore new ideas, meet new friends, and witness reactions that can literally take your breath away. Every experiment is an opportunity to discover something unexpected, laugh at mistakes, and celebrate small victories along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this blog, I want to share with you just how fun and exciting science and lab experiments can be. Beyond the cool reactions and creative projects, you\u2019ll see how much we can learn not just about science, but also about teamwork, problem-solving, and believing in yourself. Elephant\u2019s Toothpaste<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\nThe Elephant\u2019s Toothpaste Lab. You might have seen this kind of experiment before, and so have I. However, this time was special. It was the very first time we had ever tried it on such a large scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the Elephant\u2019s Toothpaste experiment, the main ingredients are hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, and food coloring. In our version, we added stronger chemicals and used a higher concentration than usual. This made the experiment look truly astonishing. The reaction was so powerful and exciting that everyone watching was amazed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What made this experiment even more meaningful was not just the mind-blowing result. It’s also the way it brought our class closer together. We learned to cooperate, share responsibilities, and work together as a team to make everything work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scoby Leather<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cIn the lab, failure is just data in disguise.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nIf I\u2019m going to talk about the lab, I definitely can\u2019t forget this project, it\u2019s the biggest one yet! In this project, we got to grow our own yeast from fermented sweet tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For me, this was the most challenging project because I had just joined the school in M4 (Grade 10) and had never undertaken anything this big before. We had to put in a lot of effort, like carefully measuring sugar, tea, and water, waiting for the yeast to grow, drying the yeast, stitching it together, and even writing our own research paper about the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There were numerous failures along the way, such as the yeast not forming properly or not becoming thick enough. But looking back, I feel so proud of myself and my teammates for going through it all together. I would say this is the most successful project I\u2019ve ever done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modelling My Recyclable Modern Dress<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cEvery discarded piece has the power to shine again, when waste becomes a dress, hope becomes wearable.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nAugust 18 of every year is Thailand\u2019s National Science Day, and on that day, our class teacher asked us to make a dress out of recycled materials and participate in a fashion show. I was chosen as the class representative to be the model for the dress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At first, we thought it would be difficult to work together and create a dress in only two weeks, but it turned out to be incredibly fun and creative. I got to know my classmates better and discovered just how talented they are. I also helped my classmates make the dress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We made the top from CDs and the bottom from snack bags. It was a bit challenging, but along the way we made new friends, and the dress turned out fabulous! Even though we didn\u2019t win any prizes, I\u2019m still so proud of myself and my classmates. I was also grateful that they chose me as the class representative. We\u2019re truly awesome!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perfume-Making Lab<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cMaking perfume is like bottling happiness; mix a little science with imagination, and you create magic in every drop.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nIn this experiment, we got to make our own scent! We learned many valuable tips on how to create a great perfume. The scent of a perfume is composed of three distinct parts: the top note, the middle note, and the base note. These layers are what make perfume smell different and give you different feelings when you experience it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At first, I thought making a perfume would be easy, but once I tried, I realized it was actually quite hard to control the scent, measure the right amounts, and balance everything together. Still, I think my perfume turned out great; it smells sweet and floral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I personally loved this experiment. To be honest, I never thought I would have the opportunity to make a perfume, and it truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project: Making Hand-Crank Generator<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cTurning the crank isn\u2019t just about power, it\u2019s about learning how effort creates energy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nWe were learning about electricity and circuits, so we had the opportunity to create a project related to the topic. My groupmate and I chose to build a \u201chand-crank generator.\u201d At first, I thought it might be easy, but it turned out to be tougher than I expected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The base was made from recycled cardboard and wooden sticks, and we used a glue gun to attach everything. It wasn\u2019t very strong, and since we didn\u2019t have many tools, it was also hard to make holes in the wooden sticks. For the mechanism, we used a small motor and rubber bands to help it spin more smoothly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On our first attempt, the light didn\u2019t turn on. However, after adjusting the wires and strengthening the base, we finally managed to get the light to brighten when spun fast enough. It may have seemed like a small project, but we were so proud that we pulled it off, especially since none of us had ever connected circuits on our own before!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project: Making Steamboat<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cBuilding a steamboat teaches us that failures are just the first step toward success.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nThis was our last project before the final exam. We were learning about thermal energy, and we got to choose whether we wanted to make a bridge or a boat. My teammates and I decided to make a steamboat. As usual, I thought it would be easy, but it really wasn\u2019t that simple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To build the boat, we used a zinc sheet, cut it into the shape of a boat, and attached it with a glue gun and silicone glue. It was difficult to make it completely leak-proof, since we had to test it in water. We also had to create a platform for our bottle can, which would hold the water and boil it to produce steam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When we finished building the boat and tried it out in the water for the first time, it sank and leaked significantly. So we went back and fixed it by attaching a future board under the boat to help it float and by adding more glue to seal the leaks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the second attempt, it was a success; the boat moved forward, powered by the steam engine! I was so proud of our team. We really excelled in this project, and it was a great way to end before the final exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\nA Fun Journey of Learning We\u2019ll Never Forget<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\nIn the end, every lab, project, and challenge became more than just a school activity\u2014it became a memory, a lesson, and a reminder that learning can be exciting in ways we never expect. Science isn\u2019t just about formulas and results; it\u2019s about curiosity, courage, and discovering what we\u2019re capable of. And sometimes, the best part of learning is realizing how much fun we had along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, when it comes to doing laboratory experiments, projects, or participating in science exhibitions, it\u2019s normal to feel nervous, scared, or even a little stressed. But it doesn\u2019t have to be that way! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Science is full of surprises, and if you look on the bright side, it\u2019s an amazing chance to try new things, explore new ideas, meet new friends, and witness reactions that can literally take your breath away. Every experiment is an opportunity to discover something unexpected, laugh at mistakes, and celebrate small victories along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this blog, I want to share with you just how fun and exciting science and lab experiments can be. Beyond the cool reactions and creative projects, you\u2019ll see how much we can learn not just about science, but also about teamwork, problem-solving, and believing in yourself. So let\u2019s dive in and explore the wonderful world of experiments together!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Elephant\u2019s Toothpaste Lab: A Powerful Experiment to Remember<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nElephant\u2019s Toothpaste<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\nThe Elephant\u2019s Toothpaste Lab. You might have seen this kind of experiment before, and so have I. However, this time was special. It was the very first time we had ever tried it on such a large scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the Elephant\u2019s Toothpaste experiment, the main ingredients are hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, and food coloring. In our version, we added stronger chemicals and used a higher concentration than usual. This made the experiment look truly astonishing. The reaction was so powerful and exciting that everyone watching was amazed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What made this experiment even more meaningful was not just the mind-blowing result. It’s also the way it brought our class closer together. We learned to cooperate, share responsibilities, and work together as a team to make everything work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\nGrowing Scoby Leather: A Challenging but Rewarding Science Journey<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nScoby Leather<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cIn the lab, failure is just data in disguise.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nIf I\u2019m going to talk about the lab, I definitely can\u2019t forget this project, it\u2019s the biggest one yet! In this project, we got to grow our own yeast from fermented sweet tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For me, this was the most challenging project because I had just joined the school in M4 (Grade 10) and had never undertaken anything this big before. We had to put in a lot of effort, like carefully measuring sugar, tea, and water, waiting for the yeast to grow, drying the yeast, stitching it together, and even writing our own research paper about the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There were numerous failures along the way, such as the yeast not forming properly or not becoming thick enough. But looking back, I feel so proud of myself and my teammates for going through it all together. I would say this is the most successful project I\u2019ve ever done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\nTurning Recycled Materials Into Art: My Recyclable Fashion Experience<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nModelling My Recyclable Modern Dress<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cEvery discarded piece has the power to shine again, when waste becomes a dress, hope becomes wearable.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nAugust 18 of every year is Thailand\u2019s National Science Day, and on that day, our class teacher asked us to make a dress out of recycled materials and participate in a fashion show. I was chosen as the class representative to be the model for the dress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At first, we thought it would be difficult to work together and create a dress in only two weeks, but it turned out to be incredibly fun and creative. I got to know my classmates better and discovered just how talented they are. I also helped my classmates make the dress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We made the top from CDs and the bottom from snack bags. It was a bit challenging, but along the way we made new friends, and the dress turned out fabulous! Even though we didn\u2019t win any prizes, I\u2019m still so proud of myself and my classmates. I was also grateful that they chose me as the class representative. We\u2019re truly awesome!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\nPerfume-Making Lab: Crafting Scents Through Science and Creativity<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nPerfume-Making Lab<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cMaking perfume is like bottling happiness; mix a little science with imagination, and you create magic in every drop.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nIn this experiment, we got to make our own scent! We learned many valuable tips on how to create a great perfume. The scent of a perfume is composed of three distinct parts: the top note, the middle note, and the base note. These layers are what make perfume smell different and give you different feelings when you experience it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At first, I thought making a perfume would be easy, but once I tried, I realized it was actually quite hard to control the scent, measure the right amounts, and balance everything together. Still, I think my perfume turned out great; it smells sweet and floral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I personally loved this experiment. To be honest, I never thought I would have the opportunity to make a perfume, and it truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\nEngineering Fun: From Hand-Crank Generators to Steamboats<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nProject: Making Hand-Crank Generator<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cTurning the crank isn\u2019t just about power, it\u2019s about learning how effort creates energy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nWe were learning about electricity and circuits, so we had the opportunity to create a project related to the topic. My groupmate and I chose to build a \u201chand-crank generator.\u201d At first, I thought it might be easy, but it turned out to be tougher than I expected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The base was made from recycled cardboard and wooden sticks, and we used a glue gun to attach everything. It wasn\u2019t very strong, and since we didn\u2019t have many tools, it was also hard to make holes in the wooden sticks. For the mechanism, we used a small motor and rubber bands to help it spin more smoothly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On our first attempt, the light didn\u2019t turn on. However, after adjusting the wires and strengthening the base, we finally managed to get the light to brighten when spun fast enough. It may have seemed like a small project, but we were so proud that we pulled it off, especially since none of us had ever connected circuits on our own before!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\nProject: Making Steamboat<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cBuilding a steamboat teaches us that failures are just the first step toward success.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nThis was our last project before the final exam. We were learning about thermal energy, and we got to choose whether we wanted to make a bridge or a boat. My teammates and I decided to make a steamboat. As usual, I thought it would be easy, but it really wasn\u2019t that simple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To build the boat, we used a zinc sheet, cut it into the shape of a boat, and attached it with a glue gun and silicone glue. It was difficult to make it completely leak-proof, since we had to test it in water. We also had to create a platform for our bottle can, which would hold the water and boil it to produce steam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When we finished building the boat and tried it out in the water for the first time, it sank and leaked significantly. So we went back and fixed it by attaching a future board under the boat to help it float and by adding more glue to seal the leaks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the second attempt, it was a success; the boat moved forward, powered by the steam engine! I was so proud of our team. We really excelled in this project, and it was a great way to end before the final exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\nA Fun Journey of Learning We\u2019ll Never Forget<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\nIn the end, every lab, project, and challenge became more than just a school activity\u2014it became a memory, a lesson, and a reminder that learning can be exciting in ways we never expect. Science isn\u2019t just about formulas and results; it\u2019s about curiosity, courage, and discovering what we\u2019re capable of. And sometimes, the best part of learning is realizing how much fun we had along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Elephant\u2019s Toothpaste Lab. You might have seen this kind of experiment before, and so have I. However, this time was special. It was the very first time we had ever tried it on such a large scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the Elephant\u2019s Toothpaste experiment, the main ingredients are hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, and food coloring. In our version, we added stronger chemicals and used a higher concentration than usual. This made the experiment look truly astonishing. The reaction was so powerful and exciting that everyone watching was amazed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What made this experiment even more meaningful was not just the mind-blowing result. It’s also the way it brought our class closer together. We learned to cooperate, share responsibilities, and work together as a team to make everything work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Growing Scoby Leather: A Challenging but Rewarding Science Journey<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nScoby Leather<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cIn the lab, failure is just data in disguise.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nIf I\u2019m going to talk about the lab, I definitely can\u2019t forget this project, it\u2019s the biggest one yet! In this project, we got to grow our own yeast from fermented sweet tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For me, this was the most challenging project because I had just joined the school in M4 (Grade 10) and had never undertaken anything this big before. We had to put in a lot of effort, like carefully measuring sugar, tea, and water, waiting for the yeast to grow, drying the yeast, stitching it together, and even writing our own research paper about the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There were numerous failures along the way, such as the yeast not forming properly or not becoming thick enough. But looking back, I feel so proud of myself and my teammates for going through it all together. I would say this is the most successful project I\u2019ve ever done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\nTurning Recycled Materials Into Art: My Recyclable Fashion Experience<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nModelling My Recyclable Modern Dress<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cEvery discarded piece has the power to shine again, when waste becomes a dress, hope becomes wearable.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nAugust 18 of every year is Thailand\u2019s National Science Day, and on that day, our class teacher asked us to make a dress out of recycled materials and participate in a fashion show. I was chosen as the class representative to be the model for the dress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At first, we thought it would be difficult to work together and create a dress in only two weeks, but it turned out to be incredibly fun and creative. I got to know my classmates better and discovered just how talented they are. I also helped my classmates make the dress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We made the top from CDs and the bottom from snack bags. It was a bit challenging, but along the way we made new friends, and the dress turned out fabulous! Even though we didn\u2019t win any prizes, I\u2019m still so proud of myself and my classmates. I was also grateful that they chose me as the class representative. We\u2019re truly awesome!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\nPerfume-Making Lab: Crafting Scents Through Science and Creativity<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nPerfume-Making Lab<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cMaking perfume is like bottling happiness; mix a little science with imagination, and you create magic in every drop.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nIn this experiment, we got to make our own scent! We learned many valuable tips on how to create a great perfume. The scent of a perfume is composed of three distinct parts: the top note, the middle note, and the base note. These layers are what make perfume smell different and give you different feelings when you experience it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At first, I thought making a perfume would be easy, but once I tried, I realized it was actually quite hard to control the scent, measure the right amounts, and balance everything together. Still, I think my perfume turned out great; it smells sweet and floral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I personally loved this experiment. To be honest, I never thought I would have the opportunity to make a perfume, and it truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\nEngineering Fun: From Hand-Crank Generators to Steamboats<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nProject: Making Hand-Crank Generator<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cTurning the crank isn\u2019t just about power, it\u2019s about learning how effort creates energy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nWe were learning about electricity and circuits, so we had the opportunity to create a project related to the topic. My groupmate and I chose to build a \u201chand-crank generator.\u201d At first, I thought it might be easy, but it turned out to be tougher than I expected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The base was made from recycled cardboard and wooden sticks, and we used a glue gun to attach everything. It wasn\u2019t very strong, and since we didn\u2019t have many tools, it was also hard to make holes in the wooden sticks. For the mechanism, we used a small motor and rubber bands to help it spin more smoothly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On our first attempt, the light didn\u2019t turn on. However, after adjusting the wires and strengthening the base, we finally managed to get the light to brighten when spun fast enough. It may have seemed like a small project, but we were so proud that we pulled it off, especially since none of us had ever connected circuits on our own before!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\nProject: Making Steamboat<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cBuilding a steamboat teaches us that failures are just the first step toward success.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nThis was our last project before the final exam. We were learning about thermal energy, and we got to choose whether we wanted to make a bridge or a boat. My teammates and I decided to make a steamboat. As usual, I thought it would be easy, but it really wasn\u2019t that simple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To build the boat, we used a zinc sheet, cut it into the shape of a boat, and attached it with a glue gun and silicone glue. It was difficult to make it completely leak-proof, since we had to test it in water. We also had to create a platform for our bottle can, which would hold the water and boil it to produce steam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When we finished building the boat and tried it out in the water for the first time, it sank and leaked significantly. So we went back and fixed it by attaching a future board under the boat to help it float and by adding more glue to seal the leaks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the second attempt, it was a success; the boat moved forward, powered by the steam engine! I was so proud of our team. We really excelled in this project, and it was a great way to end before the final exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\nA Fun Journey of Learning We\u2019ll Never Forget<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\nIn the end, every lab, project, and challenge became more than just a school activity\u2014it became a memory, a lesson, and a reminder that learning can be exciting in ways we never expect. Science isn\u2019t just about formulas and results; it\u2019s about curiosity, courage, and discovering what we\u2019re capable of. And sometimes, the best part of learning is realizing how much fun we had along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the lab, failure is just data in disguise.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n If I\u2019m going to talk about the lab, I definitely can\u2019t forget this project, it\u2019s the biggest one yet! In this project, we got to grow our own yeast from fermented sweet tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For me, this was the most challenging project because I had just joined the school in M4 (Grade 10) and had never undertaken anything this big before. We had to put in a lot of effort, like carefully measuring sugar, tea, and water, waiting for the yeast to grow, drying the yeast, stitching it together, and even writing our own research paper about the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There were numerous failures along the way, such as the yeast not forming properly or not becoming thick enough. But looking back, I feel so proud of myself and my teammates for going through it all together. I would say this is the most successful project I\u2019ve ever done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cEvery discarded piece has the power to shine again, when waste becomes a dress, hope becomes wearable.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n August 18 of every year is Thailand\u2019s National Science Day, and on that day, our class teacher asked us to make a dress out of recycled materials and participate in a fashion show. I was chosen as the class representative to be the model for the dress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At first, we thought it would be difficult to work together and create a dress in only two weeks, but it turned out to be incredibly fun and creative. I got to know my classmates better and discovered just how talented they are. I also helped my classmates make the dress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We made the top from CDs and the bottom from snack bags. It was a bit challenging, but along the way we made new friends, and the dress turned out fabulous! Even though we didn\u2019t win any prizes, I\u2019m still so proud of myself and my classmates. I was also grateful that they chose me as the class representative. We\u2019re truly awesome!<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMaking perfume is like bottling happiness; mix a little science with imagination, and you create magic in every drop.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n In this experiment, we got to make our own scent! We learned many valuable tips on how to create a great perfume. The scent of a perfume is composed of three distinct parts: the top note, the middle note, and the base note. These layers are what make perfume smell different and give you different feelings when you experience it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At first, I thought making a perfume would be easy, but once I tried, I realized it was actually quite hard to control the scent, measure the right amounts, and balance everything together. Still, I think my perfume turned out great; it smells sweet and floral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I personally loved this experiment. To be honest, I never thought I would have the opportunity to make a perfume, and it truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cTurning the crank isn\u2019t just about power, it\u2019s about learning how effort creates energy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n We were learning about electricity and circuits, so we had the opportunity to create a project related to the topic. My groupmate and I chose to build a \u201chand-crank generator.\u201d At first, I thought it might be easy, but it turned out to be tougher than I expected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The base was made from recycled cardboard and wooden sticks, and we used a glue gun to attach everything. It wasn\u2019t very strong, and since we didn\u2019t have many tools, it was also hard to make holes in the wooden sticks. For the mechanism, we used a small motor and rubber bands to help it spin more smoothly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On our first attempt, the light didn\u2019t turn on. However, after adjusting the wires and strengthening the base, we finally managed to get the light to brighten when spun fast enough. It may have seemed like a small project, but we were so proud that we pulled it off, especially since none of us had ever connected circuits on our own before!<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBuilding a steamboat teaches us that failures are just the first step toward success.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n This was our last project before the final exam. We were learning about thermal energy, and we got to choose whether we wanted to make a bridge or a boat. My teammates and I decided to make a steamboat. As usual, I thought it would be easy, but it really wasn\u2019t that simple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n To build the boat, we used a zinc sheet, cut it into the shape of a boat, and attached it with a glue gun and silicone glue. It was difficult to make it completely leak-proof, since we had to test it in water. We also had to create a platform for our bottle can, which would hold the water and boil it to produce steam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n When we finished building the boat and tried it out in the water for the first time, it sank and leaked significantly. So we went back and fixed it by attaching a future board under the boat to help it float and by adding more glue to seal the leaks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On the second attempt, it was a success; the boat moved forward, powered by the steam engine! I was so proud of our team. We really excelled in this project, and it was a great way to end before the final exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the end, every lab, project, and challenge became more than just a school activity\u2014it became a memory, a lesson, and a reminder that learning can be exciting in ways we never expect. Science isn\u2019t just about formulas and results; it\u2019s about curiosity, courage, and discovering what we\u2019re capable of.
